I have tried clay litter, extra clumping litter, easy “non stick” litter. Litter that claims it’s dust free. I’ve tried organic corn litter because it claimed it was dust free and hey it’s organic so it would be better for the cats right? Dusty!!! And sooooo much tracking. Dusty little paw prints up and down the hallway. Went briefly back to clay looking for something else. Came across pine pellets. Not going to lie they work after you figure out how to “sift”. You cannot beat the cost. Cheapest cat litter. I have cats that will play with anything and the pellets become toys to fling out of the box. Ever step on a pine pellet with bare feet? No fun. But I stuck with the pine pellets because they work and they were great for the budget. Minimal dust. No ammonia smell whatsoever. Just a pine, woodsy scent mixed with the scent of cat poo. Oh yeah! Good times! My cats have gotten older and their paws apparently grew sensitive. So instead of stepping onto the hard pellets in their boxes to do their business, they found alternate ways of doing their business. Some would perch on the edge of the box therefore tipping the box and its lovely contents onto the floor. Others just said I don’t think so and went outside the box. Right outside the box. Basically letting me know, Hey! Hooman! This litter sucks!!Enter Pidan Tofu litter!! My cats love this stuff! I didn’t even have to transition them over! I dumped one box of pellets and replaced it with the Pidan just to see which they would use. They chose the Pidan tofu litter. This litter is easy to clean. Clumps very well. I clean the litter boxes twice a day. Once before work and once after I get back home. Takes me less than 5 minutes to get every box. I have one bag in every box. I haven’t had to add any litter just take out what’s been used with scooping. One bag lasts about two weeks with multiple cats. I have four cats using three boxes because they’ve grown up together and have no qualms about using the same toilet if it is cleaned. And it actuality they are only using two of the boxes now. I have a litter box of tofu litter that’s been used twice. So it’s there as backup if needed. I can’t really say enough about this litter. It’s just that awesome! Virtually no tracking. Just some small itsy bitsy random pellet. If you’ve been on the litter journey and have grown tired of all the b.s. and are looking for something different, something wonderful (especially after non clumping pine pellets), then get off the dusty tracking litter trail and try the Pidan Tofu Litter. It might not be for you but it’s worth it to at least give it a shot.
This is amazing! There is very little dust, rarely any tracking (my cats have very fuzzy feet) and my sensitive cat uses it! It clumps with urine very well (cat hasn’t used it for BM yet) and I would recommend a stainless steel box for ease of scraping as it does stick to the box.It does have an odor and I’m very sensitive to odors, but it smells of coconut and vanilla and not too strongly (I like it). I scoop twice a day and use a litter genie, so I’ve not noted any urine odors. It’s extremely lightweight and it lasts a good while if you make sure to vigorously shake it on the (large holes only) scoop and get the loose and unused pellets back in the box. Some parts may break off, but are easily retrieveable. This was my first journey with something other than clay litter (they rejected pine pellets- so dusty!) and I couldn’t be more pleased.
I've always used clay clumping litter with my adult cats, but it does raise a lot of dust that both the cats and I have to breathe. When I recently got two kittens, however, I decided not to use clay clumping litter with them, as I've read horror stories about kittens who have ingested it. An employee at the pet supply store recommended tofu litter as being a more healthy alternative, so I tried it with the kittens. It is more expensive than the clay clumping litter, but it produces NO dust and doesn't cling to the kittens' paws or get in their eyes. It does absorb and clump, too, though the urine clumps tend to sink to the bottom of the box. I've tried different brands of tofu litter, and Pidan is my favorite. It's high quality: pure white, with the smell of fresh flaked coconut upon first opening (the smell dissipates once the litter is in the pan). The cats like it and use it contentedly. Although the litter claims to be flushable in small quantities, I've been advised by plumbers never to put ANY type of "flushable" litter down the pipes, so I'm heeding their warning. The litter itself looks like small pieces of broken uncooked spaghetti, so it's easy to sweep up the few pieces that get kicked out of the litter box. This litter is definitely worth a try if you are tired of breathing in the dust from clay litter.
I have used Pidan Tofu Cat Litter with disposable littler boxes for years. It does not track. There is no dust. It absorbs urine with no issues. It is flushable, although I have only flushed solids a few times. There is no odor in the litter box and none in the container where the scooped "debris" is.I like the light color and it has a very very faint sweet smell. It may cost a little extra but it is worth it to me. I don't worry about my kitty licking perfume and dust from her feet.
I’ve been using this cat litter for a few years now. With multiple cats it’s important for me to have litter that is dust free. This one isn’t totally dust free but it is the closest I have come and it doesn’t track which is a bonus. I will continue to use and highly recommend.
No problem with this best ever
Fantastic product, clumps brilliantly and much quicker to remove soiled litter whilst proving to be completely odour-free i.e. no smell of ammonia. It seems expensive and we’re still transitioning so yet to see if this is an economical litter choice in the long term with two cats. They did actually show interest in eating it at first so for now we’re mixing in some of their old litter which has put a stop to the issue for now at least! But so far so good.
I live in a condo and this litter absorbs all oders, makes the box easy to clean because it clumps together well and it’s easier to sweep up than the clay litter because the pellets are bigger and less dusty
Eliminate the odor
The best I have used for my cat!
This is good Litter, it doesn’t smell like others. Keeps the odour to a minimum. It clumps nicely and doesn’t stick on the bottom.
Strong smell of vanilla (but I like this). Keeps the pipi smell very well. Is consumed pretty quickly though. The only flaw is a price.
doesn't smell and the litter itself smells goodand doesn't make the floor dirty also doesn't track as much around the house compared to clay litterso the bathroom floor where their litter is stays cleaner for longer 10/10 recommend especially if you're in a small space that is hard to keep cleanwish it wasn't so expensive tho
Very pleased
I love this litter, like really. The tracking is incredibly minimal, especially in comparison to clay litter, and I rarely ever smell the litterbox except with my kitten poos. It clumps well, making it easy to scoop, but it does sometimes stick to the scooper so it requires some cleaning every once in awhile. I haven’t really any dust, and while neither my cat nor I have allergies, it is still great to keep unnecessary dust away. The reason I’m giving it only 4 stars is really due to the price point, which is a common factor among other’s reviews. I’ve looked into possibly starting to mix this with another, cheaper tofu litter/corn litter to cut down on costs as it takes 2 bags of this to fill my large stainless steel litterbox. I also have to top off the litterbox every week/week and a half, so at the price point it’s just not the most sustainable or affordable option.
*If you live in Canada you know how expensive this product is - especially the import fees. Can get this for much cheaper with free shipping on teddybob(dot)caContext: 2 cats, 2 large stainless steel litter boxes - Need approx 2.5 bags each to fill boxes to an ideal amount. I usually purchase every 3-4 weeks (4-pack).Pros:-Very good for cats and owners with respiratory issues, virtually no dust at all + is natural-Actually good for tracking compared to clay/silica which was a big deal breaker for me as I started to use this litter when I was in a small apartment-Odour control is good- you have to clean daily which I do anyways (I find Pidan brand tofu litter is the best for this versus other tofu cat litters I have purchased as the others tend to have a barnyard smell to them after a week or two of use)-Good for my one cat with sensitive paw pads who didn't take well to other pellet forms such as wood pellets-Urine clumps well if you have enough litter in the box otherwise it can get dough-y which is why price is a big downsideCons:-The price is crazy --I find I have to top up the litter every week and a half/two weeks in my large litter boxes because my cats like to have at least 2.5 inches-3 inches to dig/bury their business.-You might not like the mild vanilla smell it has
